| What kind of accuracy should I be expecting from a new stock 10/22. I am averaging better than 1 inch. What would be your recommendation for improving this? Trigger job? Barrel? Something else? |
better than one inch at what distance? 100 yards - that's great. 10 yards, not so much... |

I have several and the first thing I do is a trigger. A stock Stainless I bought recently with open sights shot about 3" at 50 yards. With a new trigger and scope I can do under a inch all day long. A barrel also will help a bit but not as much as the trigger. I have found ammo quality the second thing that helps them shoot well. I shoot the bricks (or the grandkids do) but when a shoot the smiley or rimfire shoot comes up it is CCI minimags all the way. |

Best of 2" at 50yds, after fixing the trigger pull that came at more than the gun weighs. First imho is the trigger, stone the hammer yourself based on the faq at RFC, send the fcg to BIll Springfield, or swap the hammer with a Power or VQ unit. Pick either. Otherwise, my v-block and re-worked bbl from Skeeter at http://www.rimfiretechnologies.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BAR002 shoots damn well on match, and eats any crap up to the first 500rnds. |
