Today, my Ruger 10/22 failed to fire several rounds. I tried using several types of .22lr but still occaisionally it failed to ignite primer. It would only dimple the rim.

My 10/22 was clean and it hasn't been shot that often. I checked it when I got home and it was still pretty clean. (After about 40 rnds.)

Have you guys encountered this often?

What can I do to fix this problem?

Never had a problem with mine.  Check with CPC  about getting your firing pin pinned.

Poor_man, have you recently taken the trigger group apart or just taken the hammer spring out of it and then just stuck it back in?

knock the firing pin out and check the channel in which it resides, sometimes you can get buildup in there.

I'll try out the suggestions above,

Thanks everyone

I intially had the same problem when I rebuild my 10/22 action with all power custom parts. I think most of the problem was due to a oil / junk buildup in the channel that the firing pin rides in. On the other hand it was a titanium firing pin so that might have been some of the problem, but since then with good mags it goes bang every time you pull the trigger. I guess it just took a few hundred rounds to get all the new parts working smoothly together.

ETA: is this a new 10/22? if so maybe the firing pin is out of spec being a little too short, need be I have a extra factory pin if you want it
