Sometime back I got a thread or link to a thread with great pictorial on how to re-conture (radias) the rear, lower corner of a 10/22 bolt for more reliable feeding.  Well, my comp crashed and I lost the link during the destructive rebuild of the hard drive.  I really need this link.  Can anybody help me out?

Thanks,

Rob

I used a dremel stone wheel when I did mine.

I used a belt sander. The difference is really noticeable when cycling the bolt by hand. My rifle went from a jam-o-matic to not having any problems so far (but I did some other work also). It's definitely worth the effort.

I used the side of a fine grinding wheel on a bench grinder. Turned out perfectly, and took about a minute.

The belt sander works the best. I use a 1-2-3 block as a guide clamped to the table as a guide to keep it square. I hold the bolt against the block while rotating it against the belt.

Mark off 1/8" high on the back of the bolt, and 1/8" from the rear. Then make a 1/4" radius in between the two lines. Do not go to high on the back of the bolt. Stay at least 1/16" from the bolt buffer slot. Keep it even so it does not cock the hammer with side force. Then make sure you sand it with a fine enough grit to polish it up nice.
