Any chance you can run your tests through a chronograph at the same time? It helps to know you are really watching the velocity change with the charge.

I have to agree about a chronograph...we spend several hundreds of dollars on reloading equipment..but we cannot spend $100 on a chronograph.

A Chrono is the only way to know for sure...

Spend the $100 and buy a chronograph.

Also shoot your groups on different parts of your target.  Your life will be easier...:-)

My 308 shot through a 26" barrel with a compressed charge of Varget.  I averaged 2970 fps with a Barnes 150gr TTSX bullet, seated at 2.8 ".  This was my first loading of this bullet.  I just made a guess...This was shot last week end...

Loaded on my Dillon 550 with out any special stuff...:-)  OK..they were just neck sized...

All distances are lased...

This is now my hunting load...

Did you decide to leave the 168 grain BTHP's in favor of the 178's?

Beta chrony should be here this weekend. I did the ladder test for initial stage to give an idea of how it was going to shoot

I did decide to try these vs the 168s.

I believe I am going to be looking in the 1-5 charge range for my next loading of these bullets. Less than 0.5" vertical is a good start across that wide of a charge range

I've watched a couple guys set up chronos at the range.
Looked like a pain in the ass and kept me and others from shooting for several minutes.

I'll probably get the Magnetospeed when they work out the flaws.

Got out to the range today to shoot groups and this rifle still seems to shoot everything very well
All groups had very similar POI on the target
***43.5gr was shot after final zero of the scope****

not please at all. I am not sure if it is my scope(since it has a preset 100 yard parallax) or the caldwell led sled rest I was using but load did not shoot worth crap at 200 yards today especially after grouping well at 100. And bad thing is almost every shot felt extremely well when I squeezed it off

91 F, 5-7 mph wind from 10 ocklock position

Not bad.  Wish I could shoot that well.   Still within 1MOA at 200yd vertically.  It could be wind downrange causing the horizontal scatter.  Need a flag or two downrange.

Somoene working with me using QL and my chrony data adjusted QL to match and tried a few loads in 2 of Chris Long's OBT that QL predicted. Here are the results.

5rd groups shot @100 yards .Middle group was sighters
