I've always been a 1911 and revolver kinda' guy and had no intention of ever even trying one of these things; a good friend insisted that I give his
G-23 a try when we were at the indoor range not too long ago. I'm not that easily impressed but that little .40 shot like a laser for me! I have my own G-23 sitting on the desk in front of me,( today was pick-up day) and just got through ordering a 9mm conversion barrel from stormworks. So to any/ all of you Glock guys out there, are there any " if you're only going to do 1 upgrade; do this" kind of things? Thanks! |

They are usable right out of the box and doing mods has the possibility of decreasing reliability. I think a 3.5 lb Glock factory disconnector is nice but if the stock trigger feels ok to you, don't bother. One think I have put on my Glocks is an extended slide release--they stick out only a millimeter or two more than the regular factory slide release but that extra mm or 2 is really nice. |

3.5 connector
look up Glock .25cent trigger job. Glockworx or similar heavy trigger spring. Upgraded sights in a style of your preference if your Glock came with plastic sights. Some people have trouble with the standard slide stops and magazine release and install extended ones. |

I just shot one for the first time about a month ago and I liked it too. I prefer 9mm though. But that was the first time I shot a .40. It was fitting that it was a Glock. LOL.
I don't think there is much really needed to do to a Glock. Other than shooting it and getting a good holster. I thought the factory sights were plastic, not metal like someone mentioned, and if so, that is something people recommend changing out. Many say to go XS big dots. But whatever. I actually like the factory sights, with that rear sight with the lines. But I have heard they are sometimes a little fragile. Possibly. I had a G19 and sold it because I didn't get used to it. But someday I might want to try a G17. |
| Excellent choice. I bought new the full sized G22 40 cal the first year they were introduced. it has been my carry every day for however many years, decades. Only upgrade I ever made or think necessary was Trijicon tritium three dot night sights. The radioactive elements dim out after about 10 years or so, and the sights require replacement if you want illumination. I just put in set number three. I'll probably still consider this pistol as my "go to" daily carry for the rest of my life, no matter what else I own. It fits. It shoots where it is aimed, it never jams, total reliable with allammo, and has been totally trouble free. |

I would be quite happy if I could get some night sights that were like the factory sights but visible in low light. |
