| I just ordered my factory threaded 22/45 tonight and want to pick up my first suppressor. I went for the version without the rails as I prefer shooting open sights. Can anyone recommend a suppressor that is close to the diameter of the 22/45 barrel so it does not block the factory sights? I want something that works but at a reasonable price. Trying to keep it around the $450 range on the high end. Thanks. |

Most .22 cans won't block the sights. The Outback-IId is the same diameter as a stock mkIII bull Barrel and most others are the diameter of a MKIII receiver.
"Reasonable price" is subjective. It is a lifetime purchase for most, don't skimp. It might not mean much to you now, but little things like titanium/steel thread inserts will eventually be well worth their extra cost. Factor in a lifetime of factory support from a reputable company and another 6month wait if you are unsatisfied with your purchase and it just makes sense to spend the $ now. |

You say don't skimp which is sound advice. However both the Sparrow and the Spectre can be had around $450 and the reviews seem positive on both and within the budget I was shooting for. Is there something else you would recommend? My original budget price listed does not include the $250 it will cost for the stamp and transfer fees. I was budgeting $450 just for the suppressor. |

If you wait another 2 months you can probably get a really good price on either the Sparrow or Spectre as part of a SHOT Show group buy, maybe save $100 off your $450 that can be put towards your tax stamp. I got my Spectre 2 years ago from dealer on the EE trying to clear some cans out for $345/shipped. |

Those are right in line with what I would recommend. I only know the Spectre by reputation but I have never seen an owner regret its purchase and the Sparrow is a masterpiece. I was unclear of your definition of "reasonable price". $450 is over double what some cans cost and some folks can't see paying that until you give them some perspective. You are already on top of all that. |

Certain things i buy I will take the budget model, things that go in my gun safe are automatically excluded from that list.

I may or may not have been caffeinated properly at the time. |

I found a local dealer with an SS Sparrow in stock for $350, but it was his last one. for 350, i would jump all over that. especially if its new. I second that! I did. I was going to wait until next year to buy one, but the time to buy is when the price is right. |

I'm running a "Huntertown Arms Gaurdian 22" suppresser on my Ruger 22/45 and love it sights are very visable. Price right at $200.00 from "21 Century Firearms" in Bluffton Indiana.
