1.) I'm looking at a Springfield M1A Loaded with the extended cluster rail for $1700. I own a Poly M14S and it is a dream to shoot. I want the springfield to mount a scope on and do some serious shooting with. I'm talking volume shooting. Am I safe with a springfield if I beat it up a little bit. 2.) Also whats the going rate for a Remington 1903A3 in excellent to good condition, with a 15 inch bayonet. It has orginal stock with ordnance stamps, and has an original barrel. (6-43) The only blemish is some hammer marks around date stamp on the barrel, because the dumb bastard before me tried to dink with the front sight. It shoots pretty good, but I haven't shot it too seriously. Thanks for any help. |

Well, for #1 I'd say get it, shoot the crap out of it, and if something fails tell us and fix it. I have a loaded and it's a nice rifle. I don't shoot the crap out of it though. Between my dad and I we may have put 300-400 rounds through her and we've had her a couple of years. If I start to reload, that may change. As far as #2 goes, I got mine from the CMP and it was very very nice. So I'm probably not the one to talk to about going rates. They're usually more reasonable than the going rates. But I can tell you this, a member who posts here all the time, Napolean Tannerite is looking for one. At least he said today he was. You may want to IM him. |
| My Father in law just bought a Sproingfield last year. Now he is a VOLUME shooter. No problems yet. And since I'm the family armourer/gun cleaner. I would be the second to know if it broke. Had it apart last weekend for a cleaning and it all looked mint. Maybe not USGI. But hey who care's if it shoot's good right? |
