I haven't had much success finding any load data for this powder in the 308. Has anyone fooled around with it?
Once I upgrade my new Tikka T3 Superlite 308 to run long action mags I figured I might be able to use the 30-06 data max reduced 10%, but would prefer something concrete to start with for my SCAR. |

According to Alliant, Re-16 is a little slow burning for 308. Alliant
Just click on the Re-16 feature at the link. Could be the reason your not seeing Re-16 data for your cartridge is because Alliant does not think it's a good fit in 308. |

I just loaded up several test loads of 16 for my 6.5 creedmoor, I haven't considered it for 308. Seems RE17 would be better suited I think. I thought it was faster than RE17? RE23 and RE26 are amazing in my 300 WM, haven't tested the temp stability but others report great results. |

I think you're right, on further reading this stuff is about as slow as H4350 and Superformance. There was alot of hype that this stuff would be closer to RE15, but it appears to be a specialized 30-06 powder marketed to hunters. |

I thought R15 was a staple of .308...at least for many bullet weights. It is, but shows some temperature instability. When I lived in AZ I ran into pressure issues with full power loads developed in the winter; 110 deg F vs 60 deg F made a huge difference. I think that the military was using it in LR118 loads ad saw the same things too. |

RE16 and 17 are newer than most manuals. Really the only place one should expect any load data is from the manufacturer. |
