This will give you a starting point to work up your load

     My 30-06 match load
used in M-1 Garands, 1903 Springfields and Mausers chambered in 30-06
all with 24 inch barrel with 1/10 twist

  155 gr Sierra Palma ( pn- 2155 or 2156 )
  45.7 gr IMR 4895
  CCI # 34 primer
  LC or Nozler case
COAL  3.330 (Magazine lenght of a Garand)

 NOTES ––
1-   this is a sweet spot or node for the 155 gr Sierra, in a 24 inch 1/10 twist barrel
2-  Standard and Bench rest primers have produced slow fires or delayed fires with this apr. 85% filled case
3-  CCI # 34 is a magnum primer with Mil. spec. hard cup ( for use in my Garands )and works very
well in the bolt actoin rifles
4-  lighter weight comercial cases will require a slight increas of powder to center your load
       in this sweet spot
5-  above 110 deg. temp reduce powder 0.1 or 0.2 gr
6-  load used at 200, 300 and 600 yard matches

It's easily possible, but the rifle has to be up to the task, the ammunition can't do it alone.

I shoot 59.0 grains of IMR 4350 with either 150 grain Sierra ProHunters or 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips.  The muzzle velocity from my rifle is just over 2900 fps.  This rifle (a Featherweight Model 70) will shoot about 1 to 1.25 minutes of angle.
