I have some 125 coated cast bullets I want to load. Most will be used as mid power rounds but I want to load a batch to match my carry load. Problem.... I can't find any load data for Aa 9, enforcer, h110, 2400 etc for 125 grain lead bullets. Any one have some starting points for aa9 or enforcer? |

I just worked up some 158 gr RNFP home cast and powder coated loads with H-110 in 357. I ended up at the same charge as I use for a 158 gr jacketed bullet full power load. Make sure your bullets pass the hammer test first before you work up full loads, no leading if they pass. Get a Lyman manual for some data. Page 358 and 359 in Lyman 49 has all of your powders listed for 155 gr to 170 gr. Faster powders are listed for 125's. Got Lyman 50 from the shop, page 418 has 2400 date for a cast 120 gr TC. Good luck |

Good luck I thinking, but hoping I'm wrong, there may be a reason there's no data showing a 125 cast in the 1500s.? |

Just use 125gr jacketed data. I haven't found a starting load yet that wouldn't work with my powder coated bullets. Then work up to where you want to be velocity wise watching for fouling or other problems.
Coated lead bullets can produce lower pressure so if you are using a chronograph don't be surprised if you reach maximum published load for a jacketed 125gr and are not showing any pressure signs and are not at maximum velocity. Motor |

Quoted: No clue, but plan to look up, learn, and do the hammer test as suggested. Lol. No secret, hammer bullets to ensure the coating stays on. The test to see if you cooked the PC correctly. If they pass and you don't scrape the sides of the bullet when you seat them, they will not lead. (don't scrimp on the bell) Then you have made cast bullets almost the equal to jacketed bullets, so use jacketed data. Be sure to work up. |
| 296/H110, AA9, and some of the other slower burners aren't listed for lighter bullets because they require a pretty high level of bullet "pull" to achieve proper ignition. Even gas checked 125 gr bullets aren't recommended. 2400 does pretty well, starting at 125 gr or so, I also see some data for IMR4227 as well. For such light bullets, consider something a mite faster burning. Herco & Blue Dot should be about optimal. |

Quoted: Hammer test on my 125 grain coated bullets. These are bought, not made by me. Now this is one sledge hammer strike on a cement garage floor. If I really flatten the lead I get more flaking. https://oafq4w.dm2302.livefilestore.com/y3mXSd1RUNwwgNMrvtFA-auN-ow9iurpR0_OfRaKE2s589sFT-PzytvJzXgrJn5ESKisxdXpbYCVI8w60pmKKeCmEBxULOEC09Z7IHP57AtwmHJ7qEA1EfswwG66FTZep80X_JZM8PKxn6Al1i5P4i5ugsVMVRYBOmS3KMqUug6XDc?width=371&height=660&cropmode=none https://bjnyqq.dm2302.livefilestore.com/y3mNHel0pvnlKTINmef1FOu8DxGpOR-E63uBxwnZLXr3K5oXpVw40dPaXbGJMNGWQiScJbWAHtuM1E5sT-T6WWU8PJRmUNFmtQowAT2HkCfhJh_zUolRD3wjT8qRzMP7wIPYAy7esypL3KFsgkHvqJLif6TnVtap8n--UXehnvUwyo?width=371&height=660&cropmode=none That is fine. |

You have to work those up. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg272/dryflash3/Powder%20Coat/P1010951_zpsby3d9jmt.jpg Do your bullets pass the hammer test? What brand of powder coat you use, I've never seen that kind of orange. Love the hammer test! |

The other colors they sell won't work with the tumble method. |
