Scanning the trust as a pdf gets me a 32.4mb file.
How are people digitizing theirs to get under the size limit? |

This is what I did... I don't have access to adobe, but I might be able to get access. I don't know how Goldman generated the original pdf document. Quoted:
Are you prepping for EForms coming back up? (Just making sure you knew the file isn't useful right now... Yes, this is in anticipation of the e-forms coming back up. I've scanned it every which way my scanner can scan it, 100dpi gets it to 6.6mb. I think it's a combination of things and HP must just generate too large files. UPDATE: My pdf viewer has a save as reduced file size that drops the 32.4mb main scan down to a mere 815kb! Problem solved! |

You did have a color/B&W option and chose B&W? Wasn't sure how many pages you had. You could possibly do what you mentioned earlier. Send the original trust plus the scanned signature and notary pages. I didn't so this as my trust was written such that I had to initial the bottom of each page. Another option is your local Staples/OfficeMax/OfficeDepot/FedEx Office type of place. They should be able to scan it as well. |

Scan at 300dpi, and if that doesn't get your size low enough, break it into multiple files... Text should be perfectly readable at 150 dpi. And if you have Acrobat (standard, not reader) you can reduce the file size. I take 15 MB aerial map PDFs and turn them into 500 kb files. ETA: As I see you discovered. Problem solved! |

Then we hit the ten file limit... I am starting to see the method to the madness. Can one send the 240kb pdf of the trust from Goldman and scans of the signature pages? If you have an electronic copy of your trust, you can use a tool to merge the scanned signature pages and the electronic text pages. My trust was about 12 pages, and with the signature pages merged in, it was only about 1 mb. Use this light weight tool. http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfmerge/ |
