I understand what these 2 rounds do, but what is the difference in the composition of an incendiary round vs a tracer?  Do the bullet weights differ greatly?  I am looking at getting some of each from Watson's to try out and wondering what the differences in ballistics might be.

With the tracer material burning away in flight vs the incendiary material staying with the round.

Thanks....

Ballistics is very similar with both rounds. The difference in the two is that the tracer compound is in the tail of the projo and is exposed while the incediary compand is full enclose in trhe nose of the projo. The tracer ignites and burns when the round is fired and the incendiary does not ignite unless the round hits something substantial.

Thanks....That answers my question.  I didn't know the incendiary material was in the nose of the round.  I was wondering if it was in the nose or at the base of the round like the tracer.

One other question, what chemical is used in each.  I know early rounds used white or red phosprous.  Is that used now?
