was checking out some of their stuff at Gander yesterday and it looks like quality stuff. But how does it hold up over time? some of their shirts they say are shrink resistant is this true?

Can't really say much about the shrink resistance, but the rest I can.

We are issued 511 pants and button collard shirts at work(security)  I have them pressed weekly and they are holding up just fine and no noticeable shrinking. Really comfortable too.  I also have their aggressor parka. That thing is heavy and well put together. Super warm too. And they have pockets everywhere! More pockets than I know what to do with. The shirts, and the parka, have a semi-concealed chest pocket big enough to put a good sized pistol in. I'm a pretty small guy, so the shirts are a little big on me and when a gun is stuck in there, it pulls that side of the shirt down and is pretty uncomfortable, but handy in a pinch. Definitely sold on 511 stuff, even if it is a little pricey.

None of my 5.11 uniform polo shirts have shrunk(I've probably gone through 30 or more), but they do tend to fade pretty quickly.

I like there packs.  There pants were easy but are good.

I’m actually not a fan of the packs.  The Rush 24 I had tapered in and was wider towards the front then the back which pushed the loads forward.  The Rush 72 I've got also carries the load screwy.  Its hard to explain but even light loads like a couple text books sag the bottom down a lot making it uncomfortable to carry.  The do look nice though and have a lot of usable pockets.

As for the pants they fad very quickly and wear out fast but they're pretty comfortable.

The combat shirts are really nice though, I like them a lot.  They run a bit big in size but are really comfortable and durable.

It is item to item in quality...

Some of their early MOLLE pouches were crimes against humanity. Their pants used to be higher quality in my opinion, the farther they get from Royal Robins, the cheaper the material and stitching has become... I've still got a pair of pants from about 2005 with one small hole that I keep as a back-up pair in my deployment kit, so they don't dissolve in the wash, but the quality seems to have declined.

Their jackets aren't Tier One, but I've been happy with the winter weight and concealment jackets I own. Their BBS always did what it was supposed to do.

I rarely buy 5.11 at retail. Wait awhile and buy at LAPG or other vendors on markdown. Never buy until inspecting an item or unless you are getting a smoking deal.

I have two pairs of the 8" Speed boots (the most comfortable I've ever found), and two pairs of pants that have held up just fine to being out in the bush. I really like the internal organization in the cargo pockets. The socks are nice, too.

I was issued a couple of the 5.11 Tactical polo shirts (100% polyester).  I normally wear a large, so that's what I requested... These are huge.  I've tried numerous times to shrink them in the dryer to no avail.  Rest assured; they don't shrink.  Try them on before you buy one.

Their pants are hit or miss since they've gone to China.  I wear 36 inseam and out of three pairs of pants, have six different leg lengths ranging from 34.5 to 36.  I do like their TacLite Pro pants, but again try them on before you buy.

My pants were made in Bangladesh and Vietnam, respectively, and both are sized the same. My older pair follows the same pattern.

I got a pair of the pants and started to wear them for construction work cause they are roomy

fit good and are nicer than jears, but don;t hold up at all

nothing near the quality of a military uniform, it was like 10months before my dcu's started tearing while in the desert

5.11 didn't last 6m  wearing max twice a week max

No Bueno if you are going to really stress them

I bought some of the nylon pants a few years ago for work.  One pair was great, the other two were stiff as a board.  I've washed them a ton to try and loosen them up.  I don't know if they used a different nylon in them, but I can't wear them.  I am issued the Tac lites at work and they are nice and have held up well.  I just started wearing a hole in the rear pocket, the slanted pocket, from my knife.   I've had those pants going on 3 years now.  The tac-lites haven't faded or anything.
Now the cotton ones I have had in the past have faded quickly.
