| Do I need a special buffer spring or will the spring that came with stock kit function correctly? Thanks |
|
I have been using an Enidine hydraulic buffer in my 7.5" with good success. I just rebarreled it with a Noveske 7.5" Diplomat barrel chambered in 6.8 SPC. To handle the extra recoil I am using the same Enidine but have swapped out the buffer spring for a Wolf 15% extra power. Works gread and I now get excellent terminal ballistics with 85 grain TNT BTHP Rounds.

The reason I asked the question is I had an issue......The weapon stopped fireing after 13 rounds and upon investagating I disovered the buffer retaining pin had left it's happy home and when I opened the weapon up to see what was wrong, I dropped the retaining pin in the snow and was unable to locate the bugger, dang. Long story short I think the malfunction was my fault. I used a Brownells brand M4 Style stock on the buffer tube, they have a little cut out were the Buffer retaining pins sticks out (none of my others have this feature they are smooth alll the around.......I checked) It seems, I did not screw the the tube far enough into the lower to keep the pin in place. Turned the tube another turn and should be good to go. So if my troubleshooting is correct the issue was not the equipment..........but me....dammit...........I hate when that happens |
