attempted to change the forend on an express to a short synthetic ribbed forend to allow a 6 rd side saddle.  when I cycle the weapon it seems to stick when opened all the way while attempting to place a round in the chamber. weapon works fine with long forend and the short forend works fine on my wingmaster

any ideas?

Check to make sure the forearm is installed porerly and not roateted over part way- sounds liek the action levers may be binding up from the hanguard pressing againts the barrel or receiver...

Do NOT overtighten the bolts on your Side Saddle.

It takes VERY little tension on those pins to pinch your receiver and cause binding.

Loosen the bolts to finger tight, try it out and see if that makes the difference!
