So .... anyone using this combo?

If so, do you use the piston with the spring or spacer? factory 13# recoil spring or 12# ? any problems using 12# unsuppressed ? do you use the XL piston or normal size? do you/have you used the fixed barrel mount?

I tried mine with the XL piston and spacer using the 13# recoil spring. it cycles enough to cock hammer, but doesn't pick up the next round. runs fine with the piston spring though. AE 147gr throws allot of crap in your face

thanks!

I've got one of those $299 PSA beretta 92s and a ti-rant 9mm pending. I'll have Morgan at Dallas Shooting Sports thread it

I don't know if it helps, but I'm running a box stock (stock spring) 92FS with a factory barrel that's been threaded 1/2-36 so it'll work on my older AAC Phantom.  The Phantom is a non-boosted 5.7oz can.  It runs just fine with Wolf steel case 115gr or Winchester Ranger 147gr FMJ.  Locks the slide back on an empty mag.  Looks like the Octane 45 weighs about 11oz right?

I would think you'd be fine to drop spring weight but I'd stay away from +P rounds without the can.

FWIW, I installed a brand new Wolff 13# spring when I received my Beretta

I run an Octane9 on my 92FS. The only spring I modified is the common D spring swap. Its a somewhat loud, snappy setup but runs 100%. Aesthetically its a great looking setup.

I run an Octane 9 with booster, stock springs and tornado tech threaded barrel, runs 100%. Again great setup but as marcus99 knows I have had issues with jacket separation and some anodizing chipping off my endocarp from being blasted by it but its not huge issue thus far but something to be on the lookout for. We had a thread about it a while ago.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about that. I haven't shot my 92FS since late-summer IIRC. As far as I could figure, there is something about the rifling in the Beretta's barrel (I tested two barrels) that shreds the plating off plated bullets. All other variables being accounted for as best I can, it only happens in the Beretta. The end result is the suppressor being filled with plated jacket fragments, a thin layer of lead on some baffles, and the endcap getting pelted by fragments. You can mostly correct this by using FMJ bullets when shooting the Beretta, but even there I've found a few jacket fragments in my suppressor.

It's still a badass looking setup if you ask me:

depends on the ammo, winchester 147gr will almost cycle with my octane 9 fixed mount...   fiochi 158 grain, I have to drop the spring several pounds to function.

Interesting info. It will help being aware of the end cap chipping problem. I haven't taken mine apart since shooting it. I'll have to check. Looks like I don't need the XL sized piston. didn't think so, not sure why I was given the XL. I think it is needed for the osprey. using the piston spring doesn't seem to hurt anything, I think I will try the reduced power recoil spring/spacer combo though. I'm also using a Tornado Tech threaded barrel.

ya, it is freakin' awesome looking.

They were a limited production run back in 2013(?) by custom creationz that were available over on beretta forum.
