| Now shell stuck in chamber, get a rod |
|
I've only seen that with some cheap shells, forget which brand...in my case, it wasn't as bad and was still ejecting fine, but I did see some what I considered 'excessive' extraction marks similar to your first pic.
I've since done some polishing, including the chamber - is it possible the shells are 'sticking' in a rough chamber, thus getting 'ripped up'? Will check next time I shoot the 930, but don't recall seeing this for a while now, since my first time shooting the gun (now at ~700 rounds or so, no issues). |

It was not coming out at all, what did you use to polish? Im thinking of using the green yellow scotch pads. I cleaned it before I shoot it, maybe there was excess oil in the chamber to make it stick alil. I used fine steel wool wrapped around a bore brush with a small amount of polishing compound. Others have used a bore mop + compound, among others. Be careful though, and definitely do not use a small wheel (< chamber size) on a Dremel - the intent is to remove imperfections, and polish smooth..using a small 'spot polishing tool' is unlikely to polish evenly. |

Couldn't the steel wool rust out the barrel? Only if you leave a wad of it on the barrel… Clean out the chamber and try to different ammo (Wal-mart’s Federal bulk pack is the best to the cheap stuff, Winchester AA or Remington Nitro is the good stuff). That Winchester silver rimmed “Universal “ (and their other similar promo loads) will jam in a single shot. Loose metal rims that expand and wedge in the chamber, soft plastic that grabs the chamber walls…there are not many guns that like that ammo. |

I had a break-open single-shot that started giving me troubles because it would not break-open after firing. After about every shot I would have to rap the bottom of the receiver with the palm of my hand and let the barrel drop open by gravity. After cleaning and polishing and oiling, I finally did what I should have done to begin with, I tried something other than the cheap Winchester "Universal" shells from Walmart. A different brand of shells "fixed" my problem. I believe what was happening is the head of the shell was separating from the hull and was pinching the action closed. |

Thanks for that one - didn't think the hull was also adding to the problem, but definitely seen enough having issues with the bulk Win. packs.. |
