Getting a Beretta M92A1. What do you recommend. Bullet, primer, powder etc. Oh, these are safe to load for, right?

Plenty safe to load for.

I use Rainier 115 gr plated bullets, Bullseye powder, and CCI 500 primers.

Some will knock Bullseye as a 9mm powder, but it's what I have and it works fine for me.

I shoot those components through a M92FS, Sig P228, G17, 19, and 26, and a 9mm AR with no malfunctions and good enough accuracy for my purposes.

My 9mm dies are made by LEE.

Get a reloading manual, they are full of loads. I suggest Lyman 49.

To start, get JRN 115 gr bullets, True Blue powder, and any brand of SP primers.

Seat bullets and crimp in separate dies, so add a crimp die to your set.

You may have to use a suitable pistol powder you can find instead of True Blue.

I've shot nearly 40,000 rounds through one of mine using random brass, Win. primers, 5.0 gr. of W-231, and Win. 115 gr. JHP bullets.  It's a nice load that functions well and leaves brass in a nice little pile.

My favorite 9mm bulk load is 4 grains of either HP38 or WW231 in mixed cases with my homemade Lee 125 grain RNFP bullets, sized to .357".    This load works great in all my 9mm pistols and it costs me around a nickle per shot.

Use CCI primers.  I use Alliant Unique for my 9 and 45. Get lots of cookbooks and chrono your loads. That's the only way to know what's working.  My 45 is 100fps slower than factory ammo but it functions fine, uses less powder and has less recoil.

I got my 92 to run on 4.7gr of green dot with a 124gr round nose plated bullet (it cycled with my can installed).  4.7 grains was just supersonic. I just got 3k of the RMR 124gr seconds and I'm going to try to work up a load for my MAC11/9 with the green dot as well.

I reload 9 with #5 115-147gr bullets, it is kinda dirty with a can.

First you have to the leg work.  And, you have to be aware of what materials you can get not what some one else does....

Some areas of the country do not have good sources of stuff.  So, you need to see what materials you can get.  The WORK UP a load in your gun that is SAFE, RELIABLE, and ACCURATE. There are not shortcuts in reloading...Do the due diligence! It is your firearm and your life...
Trust no one's load! Trust your work up.
