Hello All,

I'm wondering if anyone has the feature set for the A3 as it will be sold here.  In particular, I'm interested in stuff like barrel lengths, rails...  I'm also going to need a left handed bolt.

I used to see listings of the Aug being available in 6.8 as well.  Its not listed on the site however.

I've been burned buying guns "on the come" based on promised features that never actually ever arrive.  So before I drop 2000 dollars on another 223, I'd like to make sure I know whats going to be available.

If I can get an A3 Aug with left hand eject, a 16 and a 20 inch barrel, and a 20 inch 6.8 barrel, I'd be stoked.

Any info?  Any speculation?
Thanks

Before you purchase a firearm know the features as provided for by the company that makes it and the company that you purchase it from.

Steyr Arms will announce the final configuration and features of the new domestic AUG in the next few months (September, October) time frame.  You can email Steyr at the Steyr Arms website (don't email Steyr Mannlicher in Austria at the Steyr Mannlicher website) for more details or even call them if you would like. They are very friendly people to talk with.

The following has been reported by members here.

Below is a response to the email I sent Steyr Arms asking about whether they will make available the AUG A3 with its full rail options.

The AUG A3 will have rails on both sides and below for accessories. Be sure and register on our web site so that you can find out when they will be available and who will have them.

Since you guys love the look & quality of completely CNC milled receivers, the new "real" US made Steyr AUG receivers will be completely CNC machined from a block of aircraft billet aluminum.

We know that the Steyr AUG A3 and the Jagdkommando the most AUG rifles designed by Steyr Mannlicher include a "bolt release" similiar to the STG-556.

In short, we don't know everything yet about the final features of the new U.S. Steyr AUG A3. They will be very specific though about all the features once further announcements are made. I assume that it will be very similiar to the A3 since that is what members here have been told in phone conversations, emails, and at various trade shows by Steyr.
