So I ordered an AAC Pilot Mar 5th.  I'm still waiting for the can to get to the dealer.  I've been told for 11 weeks it will be here in a few days.  I paid in full and am not pleased with the empty words and time it's taken for a 22lr can that still has not arrived.  This is my first purchase; is this normal?

If you are impatient, then being in the NFA game isn't for you.

It could be either the your dealer, he could have waited to acrew some orders to make a batch order from AAC

The ATF, they are backlogged on paperwork.  But usual Form 3 transfers are taking anywhere from 3-6 weeks last I heard

AAC, it might not have been in production at the time.

Or it could have been a combination of all 3.

It is painful to wait for a can that is not already at a dealer which is why alot of people will just order from an out of state dealer and eat the transfer cost.

Did you order directly from AAC or did you pay the dealer and he said they were ordering it?

What was the original leadtime given to you for the can to get to your dealer?

Who has been telling you that it will be a few days for 11 weeks?

Do you have the serial # of the can?

If so you can ping someone at AAC to see if you can get a status.

Yes, it is normal to wait sometimes a long while to get a can that is not in stock at a dealer.

So far you are at 3 months which is nothing compared to what some have waited.

You also caught AAC at a difficult time as they were purchased and are moving.

Ain't that a fact... 11 weeks seems fairly long though. It was 8 weeks for my dealer to get my Sparrow, I think. My trust isn't done yet so it really didn't matter for me. As soon as my trust is done, I only have ~5 months to wait after that...

My Ops Inc 12th took around 7 months to fully transfer to me, and this was pre-Obama.  Ordered from Polite Society, they had to order and wait for Ops Inc to make it.  Somewhere along the way, Ops had a little trouble getting their paperwork getting through, then it had to transfer to my dealer and then to me.  The 762SD also took about the same amount of time, most of it was the Obama  craze, and some of it was me since I was lazy to go pick it up since I didn't have a host to put it on.  About to put the paperwork in for my third, a Ops Inc 16th.  And this one should be the fastest one yet.  At least this time, the suppressor is at my dealer already.  Hopefully I get to shoot it some before the approval goes through.

Always go through a stocking dealer, and make sure he has the can in stock before you order, if possible.

My AAC M4-2000 and me Gemtech Tundra both came from Major Malfunction––3 weeks for the M4-2k to get to my dealer, and 8 weeks on the Tundra (no idea what took the Form 3 so long).

Also consider finding a dealer with their own indoor range, I paid about 10% extra on my two suppressors but had them transferred through my local indoor range where I shoot weekly, so I could have visitation with them every single time I went to the range for those three months.

From whom did you purchase the suppressor?  Did you buy directly from AAC?
