Just looked at an AAC ''Czechmate' that I may buy.  Anyone here own one?

Would like feedback, pro or con.

TIA

I have one and love it. It is very quite. If you saw it, what you see is what you get. No need to worry about the sound as that is state of the art.

Any idea as to the actual barrel (before the baffle stack) length  ?

About 9.5 inches with some porting.

I have a CZ 452 Varmint with a Gemtech.  My first two CZs had real crisp triggers.  The one I have now is a sponge.  Luckily, Timney just started shipping triggers, and mine will be in next month.  There are other fixes if you get a bad trigger, but since this one is a keeper, I am going first class on the parts.  With Remington subsonics, this thing sounds like a toy and you can hear the round hitting the paper.  Very impressive.  A bigger can would be something to behold!!

The photo is a little dated.  A VXII Leupold sits on it now.

Since I had to go look, here is the Czechmate:

The trigger on the gun in question is (my opinion) very nice.

What do those cost?

I have the synthetic Chezmate and I love it. The one change I made was removing the stock trigger spring and installing a new lighter one that I made. Made a world of difference.

The gun is very accurate too. Here is a 5 shot group using CCI stand velocity ammo using using a improvised rest (across the top of a friends shop metal lathe).

BTW get one quick, AAC does not make them any more.

If it’s recommended to shoot subsonic ammo, I would assume that high velocity ammo would break the sound barrier.  I can't see why you would need porting if this was the case.  You would be better off buying a screw on can and thread barrels than going this route.  With the barrel being NFA length, they must weld the barrel to the suppressor tube to avoid it being a 2 tax weapon.  Therefore, there would be no way to clean it or move it to another similar gun.  All that plus the $1000 price tag would have me looking elsewhere.

I think you would be better off with an integrally suppressed Ruger.  John Norrell Arms sells a Ruger setup that is much more versatile for $575.  You can move the barrel to a bolt action 77/22 if you want and it shoots all ammo subsonic.  You can clean it too.

LRM, AAC, SRT, and others also make a great Ruger system.

Ruger 10-22 and 77-22 barrels are not compatible for swapping with each other.

Buy the Czech gun before it's too late.

To clarify a little on David's post, the 77-22 barrel has cuts for 2 extractors (one on each side) and the 10-22 only has one. I believe you can use a 77-22 barrel in a 10-22 but not the other way around. I once heard that the barrel shoulder that seats against the receiver might be different between these barrels but I'm not sure. If it is then they are completely non compatible.

I'm not sure your right Robert. It looked like my barrel goes to within about 5" at the end of the can.

AAC does not port this gun much and on a hot day the round will be supersonic. That was fine with me since I wanted to shoot CCI subsonics but still retain enough power to small game hunt.

you are correct but you can buy or make a spacer that will make it work quite well

As Robert pointed and now that he has I smack myself on the head. 9.5" and the 5-7" of baffles makes 16", duh.

Mongo's czechmate is the quietest suppressed .22 I've ever heard.
Fit and finish is fantastic. I want one.

I want one now. Any chance of AAC making any more?  Maybe if I supplied the rifle?

AAC loves those and only stop making them because it was sucking up too much time away from the mainstream stuff that is selling in mass quantities. They talked about eventually making stuff like that in small runs once a year, but no immediate plans.

Mine has a black synthetic stock.
