Looking to buy a new AAC M4-2000 Mod 07.  However, I noticed the finish on this appears to be highly used.  This is supposed to be a new can and the inside looks brand new but the outside looks like it has been heat treated and discolored big time.  Do any of you that bought one of these new ones have the similar finish?

Yeah, its normal for some of them. The finish still has the same hardness and what not, just looks odd. It gets better the more you shoot it. A wipe down with cleaner also helps.

If you're refering to mine, I run it hard on a SBR. I rubbed some of the fish off with a Green pad & CLP. I dig the worn-in look.

Mylocal dealers is the same way. I think it's a side-effect of the SCARmor finish, which they've corrected. I saw a post on TOS where Kevin mentioned wanting users to return them to correct the finish, but not sure if that was this exact issue.

When I picked mine up (new) from my dealer, I would have sworn that it was heavily used.  It was so many different colors, especially blues and reds.  Looked like it was heat stressed.  I contacted Kevin, and he apologized, and told me to send it in to be refinished.  They have corrected the problem with the SCARmor, and offered to refinish anybody's can who has the same problem.

They did say that the discoloring was only cosmetic, so if you don't have it refinished, there's no need to worry about the can being protected.
