| Hey, I ordered up a 16" Noveske .300 BLK upper. I'm planning on an AAC suppressor in the vague, money-filled future. The 762-SD-N is apparently a pretty good can, but due to the overall length of the barrel on my upper, I was wondering if the Mini7 might be less cumbersome. How do these suppressors compare, performance-wise? Anybody have any comparisons or first-hand experience? I do not have a reloading setup, if that makes any difference. |

Well, I guess I have plenty of time, then. No worries, I don't return CONUS for another month, anyway. I didn't see that these weren't in production on their website. Correct me if I'm wrong, by all means, though.
Here's the page. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, by all means, though. Here's the page. Hate to break it to you, but Id bet (a lot) they won't exist in another month either. However, the Surefire Socom cans have a mini option, do exist, do have a far superior mount, but do cost more.... But I will stress, they EXIST. |

The last I heard, they're not making the Mini-7.
I have an SDN-6, and shoot with an M4-2000 and Mini-4 frequently. If you're putting it on an SBR, the weight and length difference doesn't really matter even between the SDN-6 and the Mini-4. If you're putting it on a 16+" barrel, then the weight will start to make a difference. The SDN-6 is fantastic. My other top pick would be the mini Surefire can. |

I would just use an SDN6. The mini cans just never live up to what a suppressor should be. They tend to be massive flash hiders that kinda hide the sound, but no match to a larger suppressor.
If you get a chance, definitely shoot them both side by side before you decide |
| For a good general purpose can, the SDN6 is hard to beat. The mini sized options serve a much more specific role. I have a Mini-4, which I like a lot, but it lives on a 10" AR and the size/weight were a priority rather than sound reduction. That said, it is surprisingly quiet on that gun. |

Thanks for the input, guys. Right now, the intent is for the suppressor to be used on a Noveske 16" .300 BLK AR with a 13.5" NSR handguard. It's not outside the realm of possibility that I could mount it on my 16" lightweight BCM 5.56x45mm midlength, but I love that thing with my Battlecomp 2.0, so it's less likely that I would suppress that one.
My .300 BLK is intended to be more or less a range toy and occasional coyote rifle. The5.56x45mm BCM is used for two-gun competition, range fun, and sometimes pulls bedside duty. It's a lightweight-ish carbine with an EoTech and MOE handguards/VFG, light, and sling. I do not have ready access to a rifle range that accommodates shooting beyond 100 yards, so that will be the majority of the distance work that I foresee shooting. All the comments about the versatility of the SDN are pretty cool; I just don't know that I will benefit as much from the multirole abilities of the can as some, since I only have the two rifles. That said, I guess it would be a versatile investment for the future if I ever decided to get back into the .308 game or something. |

It is not just about versatility, but also performance. They are rating it at 17.3db reduction for 300blk on the mini whereas they are rating it at 39db reduction for 300blk on the SDN6. I would call that a big performance increase.
I know guys that went with the mini and micro surefire suppressors and they regret it because it does nothing to the sound. I hate to say it, but you will probably regret getting the mini |
