| I am new to the suppressors, but have read a good many pages from here and tried doing searches, but find little on the pilot. My local dealer happens to have one in stock just wondered since he had one in stock if it was a pretty decent suppressor for .22. Im pretty sure it is sealed could someone please verify this for me. I do plan on buying more than one suppressor so I don't mind having more than one for .22. How big a deal is it going to be if it is sealed. I would be using it with a 10/22 and p22 and eventually a dedicated .22 upper for the AR. Thanks for the help. |
Yes, it is sealed... Not really a big deal as you can dip it in a numbers of solutions to clean it. However it will have a shorter service life then a can that comes apart for cleaning... But them again those cans are more money... We have one for a rental at the shop I work at. People shoot it a lot and we are yet to have a problem with it (about 6 months) AAC makes good stuff from everything I have read and seen (I'm kinda new to cans) Mike |
I have it's slightly-bigger brother, the Aviator, and absolutely love it. If I buy another .22 suppressor (in my plans, but not an immediate priority), it will most likely be a Pilot. |

www.silencerresearch.com/2007_22lr_silencer_shootout.htm Note that some cans do better on long guns, some better on handguns. This is the best comparison of .22 cans as far as sound metering goes. |
