What is the difference between the AAC M4-2000, AAC SCAR-SD, and AAC 416-SD?
On the AAC site each page is exactly the same except for the name.
Really wanting to get a can and want an AAC because they seem to be tops and I have a permatached blackout 51T on one of my uppers.

Thanks!

The length and style for each is different. It does appear that the all perform about the same.

Just double checked, the SCAR-SD is the only one that's different, a bit longer(I'm assuming for the mount diff) and the 18T mount.
So what's the diff between the M4-2000 and 416-SD?...
M4-2000 db rating 32-34
416-SD db rating 30-35
I wonder what is different?...

No difference. At one time there was a difference between them but now they are the same can. I don't remember the naming convention but there was a reason for it.

The 416-SD and the M4-2000 are the same silencer with a different name on the side.

The M4-2000 DB info that is posted was with the Colt M4 (14.5" barrel) with M855 ammo.

The 416-SD DB info that is posted was with the 10.5" and 14.5" HK 416 rifle with M855 ammo.

So the numbers are a little different but the silencers are the SAME.

The SCAR SD appears to be an older M4-2000.  The model with the assymetric more or less flat blast baffle and two conical baffles.  It should be louder than the current M42K.

As I recall, Silvers said that it was due to .gov testing––if a specific mount got tested, that was the approved mount. 18T got tested, not 51T, so the SCAR sticks with the 18.

So between the 416-SD and the M4-2000 it is just what series of #'s and letters you want stamped on the side?...

Wrong- same (current) internals, just the 18-tooth spring mount- that's what was approved, that's what it has.

The SCAR can I handled was Issued equipment to the Army.  So I don't know what you're talking about.  That silencer has an NSN right?  That means any change requires retesting and approval, so the stack should be the same as the one I used, unless AAC has no plans for further sales of that NSN numbered item- or has received approval to retest, retested and was government approved of the change of baffle system.

Or I guess if AAC has a military version and a civilian version and the two groups buy different silencers and they have no relation except in name.
