Has anyone used ADCO to get their MSAR threaded?  I am thinking about getting my 16” STG556 re-threaded to 1/2x28 rather than getting an adaptor.  I realize that this probably means chopping it shorter than 16” so I’d have them pin a YHM Phantom QD for my Phantom suppressor to bring it up to legal length.  I’ll have to be careful about the length to make sure the gas valve can be serviced.

In any case, I am wondering if they charge the same for an AUG barrel as they do for an AR barrel.  I’ve called and they don’t answer the phone (and it say specifically not to leave messages as they aren’t checked).  I’ve also emailed and got no response either.

Thanks in advance!

You sure you can't get YHM to make you a 13.1LH Phantom QD?

Some guy on here posted pics of the YHM unit they built for him.

Just about anybody that calls themself a "gunsmith" should be able to thread your barrel to 1/2x28.  You will need to pin and weld the device on to keep it legal.  Good luck.  Post pictures.

We were just discussing this in another thread:

$25 upcharge for the supressor cutstom threaded for 13x1L. Cheaper than getting the barrel chopped and pinned.

Yep –– just got the bbl back last week and couldn't be happier.  I had them correctly install/"time" an A2 FH on mine with a peel washer, as I'm using an AAC Omni that mounts/indexes on the FH:

I absolutely love the thing –– in fact, assuming no big unexpected expenses through the holiday season, I hope to get a second one early next year.

(I would have done it before Christmas, but I just had an opportunity to pick up a good, big safe at less than 1/2 MSRP last week and jumped on it, 'cause I needed another one.
