Only if you want to be more comfortable.  The frame gives your ruck more support and rides better on your shoulders and hips. A heavier load will be more comfortable to carry. It also gives a space between the ruck and your back so you get some cooling effect. You will need to get the kidney (waist) pad belt for it also. |
