I just saw one at the Indy 1500 gun show and I have to say that is one ugly looking gun.

Anyone shoot one much to get an idea of how well that brake works?

I own one and the brake works well.  A bizarre design, but it does get the job done.  Most light weight shotguns shooting slugs kick harder.  My Beretta 1200 sure does.

I have one too and have shot about 50 or so rounds at a match and cant complain about the recoil... the brake works pretty good, me and my gun make a good couple.....we are both ugly!

Thanks for the replies gents.

I had thought myself fairly well educated on the different .50s that have been out there over the years, but that was one I couldn't ID on sight.

I think the AMAC is one of the better looking 50s.

That AMAC 50 looks a lot like a Vulcan 50 BMG.  The older Vulcans sometimes went boom - in a bad way....  From what I read, they fixed that with a new three lug bolt but there is alot of negativity towards them in the FCSA community.

Just my 2 cents.

There's alot of negativity towards them because they SUCK ASS as a company! They keep on trying to change their name to get away from their past but yet they still suck in whatever name they change to.

Buyer beware, you can take the name out of a piece of shit company but you can't take the shit out of the people who run a new name to get away from the old.

Although they may look similar ( I have never seen an AMC like Vulcan, other than the straight tubular action Hesse used to make) but to use AMAC and a Hesse product in the same sentence without it being an example of polar opposites is way off base.  Any failings in the Vulcan guns has no bearing on the AMAC what so ever.  You should have put your 2¢ in the bank.

I own a RAP 500    (amac before the amac )  Nothing even close to a Vulcan    One of the Oldest DOD approved designs!   Brake is awesome ,it is one of the best working brakes out there due to the internal Slots and baffles.

Thanks for all of the information folks!

I know a fair amount about .50s and it was a new one on me.  I'm glad to hear the brake design is an effective one.  I still think it's ugly as sin, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I didn't know it was a RAP untill I blew up the picture the seller sent me. I was pretty excited about that since my first impressions were from my buddy's RAP (amac)
Does anyone have a supressed amac , if so , How do ya like it!

A pic of the receiver would be cool.  I have never seen a RAP marked rifle.

Here it is , not much to look at ! These are the only markings on the gun , Other than 118 written on every part.

Me too.
Neat innovations were put into those guns.
