How many rounds should I expect my AR50 to expel before I start seeing accuracy problems. I feed mostly M33, M2 and M8. |
| It's one of those things where so few people ever wear them out there isn't a lot of data. I can see where match shooters might but they also have a harsher firing schedule than a lot of casual dirt shooters like me. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get 2-3k out of one. I have no data on that just a wild assed guess. |

Barrel life. Do you mean something like when a competitive 50 BMG 1,000 yard benchrest shooter might give up on a barrel of when a high level long range plinker might give up on a barrel. I pulled a Lilja 15 twist barrel off my MCM benchgun right around 950 rounds. Most all the shooting was with 750-800gn bore rider solids. The throat was toast and it fouled really bad causing pressures to skyrocket. My Accuracy International bolt gun with the factory barrel and TBAC suppressor is almost as accurate. I am close to 500 rounds on it and it appears to be holding up well compared to my Lilja. I am hoping for 1,500 rounds of traditional bullets before I look into a new barrel. My 107 CQB is only minute of car door accurate so I really dont think it will ever be considered for a new barrel. |
