| Are these against the law to own? They have them for sale in Shotgun News for $105. |
|
Sure... They're legal. Why not... It's just a "part"... But if you put it in an AR and it enables that AR to fire "Full-Auto" you'll be spending a LONG time as Bubba's Bitch in a Federal Pen!!!
There are legal ones out there that you can put in your AR but I doubt you'll find one for less than $15,000.00 and they would have to meet all of the criteria posted by "uxb" Wouldn't surprise me if BATFE actually put that ad in there to snatch up the idiots out there that actually buy one thinking: "They can't bust me for this... how do they even know I have an AR? And so what... |
|
They are legal to posess as lomg as the DIAS was made before a set date in 1981 and the posessor does not have an AR.
DIAS made after that date in 1981 are considered machineguns in their own right and are supposed to be registered on the NFRTR as such. I would stay far, far away from any unregistered DIAS regardless of the supposed manufacture date or whether I owned an AR, if I were the OP. |

Somehow I get the feeling that "clueless" or "uninformed" or even "ignorant" doesn't equal "potential entrapment." Just sayin'... |

I saw this same ad the guy is talking about & I was thinking the same thing.... The ad is terrible....It's a poorly drawn picture of this thing droping into an AR..... If you send these guys $105 you deserve to either get ripped off, or ass raped. |

What the ad is for is an auto SAFETY sear......not a FULL AUTO sear.
I believe it automatically switches your gun to SAFE every time the trigger is pulled. It is on page 107 of the current SGN. I think these are perfectly legal to own, as they do nothing to except make the gun safe. I've never actually SEEN one, so I'd have to call them to find out exactly what the deal is... |

You don't know what the hell you're talking about. They're selling drop in auto sears. Another name for them is a "safety sear" because it makes shooting the gun more safe in full auto, due to the fact that the auto sear ensures that the bolt's locked before the hammer drops. Without the auto sear, you'd have the equivalent of an AR15 with the disconnector removed, which will most likely result in out of battery ignition and the gun being damaged. |

You don't know what the hell you're talking about. The AR15 CAN NOT FIRE OUT OF BATTERY. IT IS MECHANICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. I think ADCO posted cutaway pics of the BCG on an AR and the bolt is completely locked up WELL before it's physically possible for the firing pin to touch the primer. I'm not trying to start shit. I just found it comical that you told the guy he didn't know what he was talking about and promptly followed up with bad info!

what i want to know is has anyone ever called them and tried to order one. if so, did they get their doors kicked in and their dog shot? ![]() Someone on here once said they ordered one, when it arrived they installed the trip/spring on their RDIAS and cut the body up, I don't remember who it was... |

Which was his sarcastic point...That link is for this page. His sense of sarcasm is more advanced than mine then. It caught my attention because I work in the EE; I thought I might've let one slip by. Unregistered LL's/DIAS's are a big no-go in the EE (and getting goat-kicked hurts!). |
