| For a 20" Govt profile AR15/M16 A1 or A2 barrel, what is the dimension from the flat that the barrel extension tightens up against, to the flat that the handguard cap presses up against. I have a pdf of the old M16 drawing, but it was creased right over that dimension (Murphy's Law) - best I can make out is 12._25, is it 12.125 maybe? Could be a 3 or 4 there... Thought I would ask the hive... If I dont get that right the handguards wont fit properly. Thanks in advance for any help. Mechanicuss |

Green Mountain has profiles for their 3 20" rifle barrels posted. The A1 profile ( link ) shows 12.126 ("6" is blurry - might be a 5 there).
To confuse things, they show 12.119 for their A2's. I dont have a stripped barrel to check for you, but I think 12.125 is probably the correct number. |
