Can the AR50 trigger be adjusted or does it need to be replaced?

Yep.  Easy to adjust.  It's a Shilen-made Remington 700-type trigger.

Easy to adjust.  I adjusted a buddy's.  Fixed it right up.

And you can always add a Jewel if need near perfection.

Very easy. BUT BE WARNED! The trigger can be adjusted very light and or too light
I'm guessing I have a very nice 2pd trgger at present and have a few hundred down the tube. Very reliable.
When setting it up, of course I wanted to see how low I could go. Well I'm guessing again that 1pd or below I found that release of the safety would result in ignition that to say the least is a surprise. Hell of group though even firing with the safety
Seriously dont overdue it and you will have a very nice, safe trigger release.

The only trigger available that you can install that will give you the same pull every time and is reliable as to not go off by accident and give you a nice crisp 8 ounce or less pull or a greater pull is a jewell trigger. That is my opinion as well as it can be done with modifications to other triggers and alot of other tricked out springs on the firing pin, however, the cleanest easy solution is a jewell.

Amen regarding the Jewell.  I put one of the bottom safety versions on my Windrunner.  Set for 2.5 pounds.  Easy to adjust while on the gun, but I did have to trim the trigger guard a little to avoid binding the safety.  It was money well spent.
