Nice! You guys can thank me, I kept waiting and waiting for FDE and gave up about a month or two ago and got a black one. Of course the FDE would come out soon after. Oh well, at least I got it for $1150. ![]() You knew SHOT was coming up... Somehow I think it'll be a long time until the FDE shows up for $1150 new if ever. It hit my "but it now, this is a great deal" mark. Besides, I can always hydrodip mine. FDE would be cool, but ATACS AU or FG would be even better! |

A question for the Shot Show attendees to ask Beretta: When are these supposed to hit the LGS in quantity? Probably sometime in the 12th quarter of 2016. Beretta is HORRIBLY slow at getting shit to market. I have an ARX and I like it, but it took forever to get the front picatinny rail, and I don't think they have the bolt handle extensions stateside yet. |

We've been waiting for 300blk barrels forever. I've given up on the idea of the 7.62x39 lower ever showing up. |

And it still looks like it has 1" sling attachment points. Does anyone make 1" slings anymore?
The stock on the ARX is the most horribly uncomfortable monstrosity I've ever shouldered. Never shot a underfolder AK? AJ I've owned a lot of underfolders in the past twenty five or so years. Still more comfortable than the ARX stock, IMO. |

Honestly, if they had a short .300BLK barrel available, I'd probably start the SBR procedures and eventually pick one of the barrels up. I have nothing in .300BLK right now, but that would start my entry into it. I'd order dies and roll my own. Probably wouldn't shoot it all that much, but it would be fun to have. I still want one of the charging handle covers. |

It's even uglier when the lighter color lets you make out the details better! It's a great rifle with some great features, I just wish they'd trim the bloat off the front end. I'm right there with you. It looks like a pregnant dumpy SCAR. Along with the medicore reports of the performance, I just can't believe anyone can get past the design. |

Nothing wrong with the ARX, it runs very clean and is reliable. The only real downside is the trigger (fixable). |

I'll be in the minority I think it looks pretty awesome. I'm digging their railed handguard it helps look a little less bloated. Add in a cheek piece and I'd almost get it off its COD looks alone!
ETA: after SBRing it to 10" off course that long barrel looks about as out of place as a PS90 barrel. |

Apparnetly you guys don't know what mediocre means. And of course everyone must be entirely defensive about their purchases...
Short version, the ARX excels at nothing over any other platform - which is OK. You can still get one and still love it, I'm just amazed at how ugly they are :) |

Beauty is relative. The HG space profile functions to dissipate heat from the bbl. Beretta researched the design wrt polymer, & came away with a gun that can handle FA without encountering material failure. It's light - lighter than a AR - & reliable. |

Beauty is subjective, not relative. ;) I dig the ARX. Sure, I'd like it if it were 'slimmer', but the features, flexibility and reliability count for a lot, too. |

Saw Beretta had the ARX-200 at show show. Hopefully TFB lets me hotlink: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/01/20/shot-2016-beretta-arx-200-available-april/ ![]() ![]() |

Perception isn't a fixed point, it's highly different, thus it in and of itself is also subjective! |

It adds a lot to the bloated look. |

Given Beretta's history, I'm also sure that a semiauto variant isn't due any time soon, if at all (Note the FA selector on that display model). I definitely don't buy the "April release date" rumor. |

I wonder what has a chance of showing up first... .300 Blackout, FDE ARX-100 or ARX-200
I don't even think Beretta had an FDE ARX on display at Shot and I haven't heard anything about different calibers. Edit: Apparently there was an FDE ARX-100 on display at Shot. It was kinda shown/talked about in Beretta's latest Shot Show booth tour video posted on their Facebook page. The only bit of technical info given was that the rails on the FDE version are Cerakoted FDE and apparently not anodized FDE like on all of the FDE ARX-160 military models that have been shown previously.
I'm am guessing that they are probably trying to prevent a color mismatch by using Cerakote but I would still prefer anodizing. |

I think the "April" thing probably means the first LE/MIL examples of the Italian-built select-fire ARX-200, as I'm sure the ARX-160 was available similarly before it's ARX-100 US-built sibling. A Beretta timeline measured in a few months? Har har. ![]() The 160 was in combat before any semi autos had even been produced. |

The 7.62x51 ARX 200 Baretta was very heavy in my opinion. It was nothing like the ARX 100. Yeah, the published weight # was FAL-esque, which is odd considering all the plastic in the upper & lower receiver. You think the heavy bbl & all aluminum fore end might be the reason? |

Any updates on this? I really want this to be a thing, this thing SBR'd in FDE would be awesome. I have heard nothing at all about the FDE version since Shot Show and that was basically just a "look here it is" moment for Beretta. They didn't say anything about when it could be coming out. |

Is this assessment based on evaluating metrics like material strength modulus, structural elements of its design, etc., or "feels"? |
