I wanted to share my ARX-100 Build with everyone.  I know there are some people who own one and I thought I'd share my mod list with you all.

Just to start I'd like to say I love this rifle, but there are some things I didn't like about it.  I've now resolved all of those issues and I'm super happy with my rig now.

First off lets talk about the trigger.  12lbs is a bit much for this rifle.  So I ordered a 2 stage trigger from shooter sight. http://shop.shootingsight.com/Beretta-ARX_c23.htm .  This trigger is much better with a 4.5-5lb 2 stage setup.

Next up is the safety switch. Its way to stiff.  It would rub my finger raw flipping it on and off.   This is an easy fix with a few small tools. First remove the lower.  You need to remove the drop saftey pin and the drop safety.  Then rotate  the safety to fire.  You'll see a small pin on the right side of the safety.  Using a 3/16 pin punch and a small hammer you can hammer that pin out.  Remove the right side of the saftey.  Then while cupping your hand over the left side remove the rest of the safety keeping in mind there are to detent pins and tiny spring,  They will shoot out on you if you don't cup your hands over them. Remove the spring and take a pair of metal snips and clip of just a hair of the spring.  Reverse these instructions and reinstall the safety and the drop safety,  Now test your new easy slide safty switch.  If its still to tight you can remove a bit more of the spring.  If you remove too much you can order a replacment spring on http://www.brownells.com/.

Next up is the sights.  The factory iron sights are just too high for my taste I simply replaced them with mbus sights.

Is that a Magpul pad you're using for the stock?

I have many high end ARs and other 5.56 rifles (scar, cz805 Bren, tavor, X95), I believe the ARX is the most under rated 5.56 battle rifle on the market. I agree about the BUIS, a lot folks complain about them as if there an integral part of the rifle if you don't care for them simply remove & replace them with something better. It is nice to have a trigger now but would much rather a Geissele.

I would remove the gunshow/ cheaper then dirt $99 optic till you can afford a real one

While I have an ARX-100 and love it as my 5.56 go-to carbine.... you didn't 'build' anything. You put some stuff on an already complete rifle.  Looks good to me, tho!

I have a cheek riser I bought from a member here (can't remember his name) and eventually want to get an AFG. Good to see what it looks like on someone else's rifle.

Looks like the one shown on Nexus Tactical project page.

It isn't listed as a production item, though.

Thanks! The extended pads for some of the Magpul stocks were the only thing i could think of that looked like that.

Might pick one up, the short stock is one of my complaints about the ARX. The stuff they have listed on their site seems very high priced though...

I like the features of this rifle, especially since I'm left handed, but this thing is so danged UGLY I just can't make myself get one. It looks like a pregnant guppie.

I think if you take the bottom rail cover off, ditch those crappy factory sights, and mount and optic where it should be it looks good. As a fellow lefty this is the most lefty friendly rifle made IMO.

I do like it. How is the availability of extra parts? Are the short barrels available yet? I'd have to make an SBR out of it.

Brownells has a lot of parts for the ARX. Pretty much any spare you would ever need and barrels. They have the 16inch and not the 10.5 I think although the 10.5s are out there.

Beretta sells them direct and a few dealers have them cheaper.

How is the recoil vs a scar?

Ahh different. The Scar is super smooth but has a long duration and you can really feel the weight of the BCG moving. ARX is faster, lighter BCG, and still quite smooth.

Are they only offering 5.56 barrels at this point?

So far.  Box that the bbl kit comes in has 7.62x39 & .300 BLK listed on the side, so there's hope.  The Russian .30 variants are already out there in the wild, so the lower + bolt + bbl kit has already seen limited mass production.  It's just a matter of it being refocused to the commercial side.  Lower would have to be changed, but the existing 5.56 semi makes that design change a relative "copy & paste" task.

Is accuracy stellar, or just the run of the mill 2-4moa battle rifle?
