I want a suppressor for my sbr so bad!!

What is a good entry level suppressor that will not break the bank?

Define "break the bank".  We all have differing levels of tolerance for money expenditure.

My stock suggestion would be the YHM Phantom.

I'd like to get one for less than a grand including the tax stamp.

Those are nice.

I have watched a ton of videos on youtube, but how much can I really expect shooting reagular old 55gr fmj ammo.

There is a noticeable difference on the videos.

.223 with suppressor is like shooting a .22 magnum without a suppressor... but add the big blast of powder gas back in your face if you fire more than a few shots.

The "gasbuster" charging handle helps only a little bit.
Most of the rearward-directed gas is coming from the ejection port.

I have one, and the novelty wore of pretty quick.

Very good thing to have though if you think you might need to fire that beast indoors without hearing protection.

My primary motivation for having one.

Novelty has not worn off for me and I doubt it will.

The novelty of driving a vehicle with a muffler has not worn off me.

I use mine all the time. I use it for hunting and don't even notice the face full of gas. I do notice it when I'm shooting at the range however.

Novelty of my cans hasn't worn off for me.

In that price range there are a TON of options.  I would feel bad even giving you a list as I'm sure I would leave off some cans that would deserve a spot on the list.

I would recommend a .30cal can if you ever plan on suppressing anything other than a 5.56 AR.  That's actually going to be my first centerfire rifle can.  More compatibility is always a plus!

M4-1000 is still a good value.  Used to be that it was a Screaming value... but AAC figured out that the competetors were charging more money for inferior cans with less features and they raised prices.

That was before SWR put out 5.56 suppressors that perform as well as the M4-2000 near the pricepoint of the M4-1000.   I wouldn't expect the AAC product's pricepoint to change however.

Another vote for the 30cal Phantom.  My 4 uppers (maybe 5 in a few months) are in 6.5, 6.8, and 2 762x39s so a 30cal can works awesome.  A friend of mine who also has a 556 SBR with a 22conv also run that with his YHM phantom 762 and it's super quiet.  Why not get one from Major Malfunction for $599 plus C3 transfer in your state?  $850 in your hands and $65 mounts at Bright Flashlights.....

That is a fear that is very unfounded.  I find it becomes more addictive than any kind of novelty.
Now I find myself nearly cringing when I think of shooting without a suppressor.  I have 4 suppressors
and am contemplating #5 very soon.

Might want to wait until April 15 and see if Gemtech will be offering up some more good deals.

IMO, the SWR Specwar is probably the can to beat in the bang-for-buck category.  It's also high up in the pure performance / features category as well.

My favorite budget AR suppressor is the YHM Phantom SS. Can't go wrong with Gem-Tech either. Most of my cans are Surefires now.
