Does the ASR Three Prong Flash hider degrade accuracy?
I'm rebarreling a 5.56 which I use a Specwar762 on and I was previously using the ASR Brake. The new barrel will be a Larue stealth that I'm honing and bedding so I want to squeeze as much accuracy out of her as possible. The brake was very effective but the concussion was a bit much for my hunting buddies as this is a coyote gun. I've shot some spectacular groups using the brake on my 308 bolt gun but never tried the flash hider. I have a 5.56 three prong ASR flash hider that I'm considering installing this time around on the AR but I was wondering if anyone has seen any difference in accuracy when switching between the two? The three prongs are three different lengths to prevent the "pinging" noise but in my mind this would create different pressures around the bullet with exiting gas, thus degrading accuracy. I suppose as long as it's consistent, it shouldn't matter, but I wanted to check in and see if you all had any experience with these affecting accuracy with and without the suppressor? The only other time I've used the FH was on a cheaper short barreled 300BLK with a red dot so accuracy testing wasn't really relevant and I didn't do a side by side comparison. Thanks all! |
