I have a Remington 870 SBS that I've been waiting for Form 3 approval so it can be shipped to my local dealer. It had been almost two months and still no word from the seller regarding Form 3 approval. I called last week and talked to the seller and was told that they were waiting for "Nancy" to approve the transfer paperwork. I asked who "Nancy" was and the seller said it was the ATF examiner they used. The seller said she had sent "Nancy" an email the previous week to check on the Form 3 and hadn't heard back yet. Does this sound legit? I didn't know a dealer had specific examiners they used. I was under the impression it was whoever grabbed the paperwork got to process it. |

I have the same examiner for most all of the items I transfer. Nancy Flanigan is very slow. And she goes to read everything in the law book before she does the paperwork. If there is something she doesn't understand she denies it. Sorry to hear that she is handling it. She had one that was coming to us and it took 3 months on a form 3 |

The examiner I have been assigned for outgoing transfers is Nichole Dudash, she is very helpful and if asked she will do everything she can to expedite a transfer. She has done form 5 transfers to departments for me on a Monday(if I call before I fax) and I can have them in my hand by Thursday or Friday. |
I was waiting for a form 3 in July, it took 8 weeks. Another form 3 in August, still waiting !! !! !! I'm not exactly a big NFA consumer, but you'd figure a dealer to dealer would go pretty quick. *sigh* |

Actually dealer to dealer does not make a lot of difference in the time involved due to the forms falling in line with all the other forms. Unfortunately every time someone calls an examiner to check on a form it just slows the process down that much further. My last two transfers were 58 days and 60 days. The first was a C3 to my C&R and the second was from an individual to me as a C3. By becoming a C3 licensee it actually slowed the process by 2 days. |

And how long have you have you been in business as an FFL and been a C3? |
