I've been looking at the AUG A3 / Saber from SGC, but the one hangup I have is that is is marked .223... Is it still GTG when shooting 5.56/M193 spec'd loads?

Is it just a faux paux on the marking or a requirement of the laws for them being produced here?

Who knows? The law just requires that the caliber be clearly marked, AFAIK.

My MSAR barrel is marked 5.56mm.

My MSAR receiver is marked .223.

Never had problems.  5.56, .233, brass or steel.  They eat cartridges and spit bullets.  They are not picky at all.

I had this same question about my A3, in fact almost had a panic attach.  Called Styer ASAP and they said it was chambered in 5.56.  The guy stated they marked it .223 because of marketing.  They thought a lot of people would not know what 5.56 is and that you could shoot .223.
