Finally cool enough, I took my Aug outdoor shooting recently.  It was a bad day all around...

First, I couldn't even get it on the paper at 25 yards.  I had bore sighted it at ~20 yards before and it was shooting like 1 foot high vs 3X scope.  I couldn't even get the scope adjusted enough to get it back on target, so something's up.  Maybe something silly with trying to awkwardly shoot from a sandbag with the grip pod down, or just me being an idiot for some reason. I will have to try again unless there is some common issue here.

I had one jam, and it popped out my ejection port cover. What's up with that?  It seems like a poor design, not really in there all that well. I will never go to left handed, any way to get it permanently or semi-permanently mounted in there so it won't come out at the drop of a hat?

Contact Steyr, they have very responsive customer service.

So all AUG's come shipped with the scope about 10' off, so the fact your first shots were out in Mars is normal.  Just roll your eyes about it, zero it, and it should hold good going forward.

The ejection port jam is unusual, and I don't know what to say about that.  In the thousands of rounds I've fired, I've never had this, and my reliability is very good.  If it's brand new, maybe teething?

OK, I will take it out again and ping Steyr if still issues.

Yeah, I'm hoping the jam is just breaking in or ammo issue.  Only happened once, and I think the next round went sideways and knocked the ejection cover off.

why would you shoot it from a sandbag with the grip down?  Fold the grip up for a more stable platform
