I'm thinking of picking one up to supplement my AR collection and was wondering a few things. I couldn't find a manual or much detail information posted online. 1. Does it have a last round bolt hold open feature? 2. Do drop free when released as the in the AR platform? 3. Is the muzzle device threaded so that it can be replaced or is the factory unit permanently attached. 4. I see in the picture thread that several people have a foregrip with weapon light integrally mounted. Are the foregrips with light "hole" modified units, or is their a vendor available to purchase from. 5. Spare parts availability? 6. Any online dealers anyone would care to recommend? Sorry for such a long post. These rifles have really intrigued me, but I just can't seem to find as much detail as I would like to know before purchase. Thanks for any help. |
1. No 2. No. There is a rubber dust gasket in the magwell though and I heard if you remove it that it will let the magazine fall free. I haven’t tried t on mine. 3. It’s a compensator and it's pinned 4. You have to modify the foregrip but it is designed to be modified. 5. From FN 6. I bought mine off of Sturm but a lot of people get them from CDNN or Tanners. |

It's fairly heavy considering how much of it is plastic, but it balances extremely well. The trigger is terrible by AR standards (heavy, 10-11 lb range, and with a lot of creep). You'll want to mount optics on it, I went with an EOtech and am very happy with it. The factory 'iron' sights aren't very good. Ended up taking the front one off mine to get more rail space.MAny people have removed the muzzle break and it has standard FN threads on it. Silencers and adaptors for the FNC will fit it. It's a fun rifle and I'm glad I bought it but it could use some improvements. |

I am very happy with my FS2000. AVSLASH since one of your question was about drop free mags - here is more info. I had thought about removing the magazine dust seal, but decided against it. The magazines do not drop free, but I get them out with one hand, which meets my need for mag removal. Take the non-trigger hand to get out the mag. Push the release button up all the way with the web (between thumb and index finger) of your hand. Your hand is now facing the mag. Grip mag with thumb and fingers and pull out hard and fast. |
