Loading for the 1st time in a year.
About 50 loads in I notice a problem with my scale.
I now have 50 finished cartridges with the following load details.
Mostly LC (some mixed) cases trimmed to 1.750
TAC at 27.5 gn. instead of the desired 23.5 gns.
2.21 OAL
Hornady .224 55 GR FMJ-BT W/C
CCI 450 Small Rifle Magnum Primers
Light Lee Factory Crimp.
Looking at some load data it may seem these are too hot.
Can I shoot these or put tyhem aside to disassemble?

I think you already know the answer....

Pull em...  4.0grs over is hot.  Small price to pay to be safe.

Pull them.

0.1 or 0.2 grains over maybe, but 4 over is excessive.

Those are hot, but they're actually under Ramshot's 5.56 load max of 27.8 so you could work up to that level if you'd like.

Looks like you need to pull them apart.

My Tac load with similar components is 26.0 grs, but I worked up to that load.

My advice is to get a collet puller, and redo those loads.

Get the Hornady, it's a nicer puller than the RCBS.

Posted a pic of RCBS puller in action to cover up double post.

Dryflash;
Currently I use a kinetic puller and was thinking of getting a collet bullet puller and was leaning towards the RCBS one (read bad reviews on the Hornady pot metal handle breaking after pulling only a few rounds). WIll it work with lead/cast bullets or do you still have to use a kinetic puller for those? Just curious.
Thanks,
Mav

Reviews are not always posted by reliable people, and in this case totally wrong.

Hornady's handle is steel on mine, and would not break with anything like normal use. This is a better puller than the RCBS, I have both.

Collet pullers are for rifle rounds only, won't work with pistol rounds. Look at a pistol round, it will be obvious. The bullet is curved, collet can't hold on to that.

Kinetic pullers will pull pistol or rifle rounds.

I've always use a kinetic puller for cast bullets. Never tried a cast rifle round in a collet puller. I would expect some bullet damage here.
