Early threads from the Ultimate Reloading blog were ruled okay as there was no active advertising of items for sale from that site.

I checked the blog just now and see that their status has changed, hence they may not promote their site here without becoming an Industry Partner.  The bottom left hand corner of every page has a link with information about obtaining that membership.

I didn't delete the thread, but I agree with the disposition after reviewing the site just now.

What’s the deal?  I’ve never seen anyone from UR come in here and actively try to sell anything.

Pegged that one on his very first post when I asked " what was he selling."  If he was he might want to read CoC rules. If not selling. Welcome to the forum. His reply, "nothing, just here to talk about reloading."

Links to the Ultimate Reloading web site have articles for sale by Ultimate Reloading.  Yesterday was the first time I noticed that.  The conduct code requirements are no surprise to that site owner as they were pointed out in the first thread made here.  Ads for third parties were allowed to pass then, but they'll need a membership here to continue posting that format now.

It's simple, and it's spelled out in detail in the Conduct Code.

Has a nice site but I kinda thought when he first posted that it would lead to selling something

I figured the same as well. I don't see any reason for him NOT to subscribe to the proper membership and promote his site though...

While I very much appreciate his videos and reviews, it almost seems like the only reason he has that site is to get free stuff from the manufactures... Which is even more apparent by the constant push to "Subscribe" from all his video's, that allows him to tell manufactures "I got XXXX number of subscribers that will see your product in my review" to entice them to send him free stuff.

The very least he could do is support the forum(s) that get him the subscribers that get him the free stuff!

Just my $0.02...

I don't have a problem with him promoting his site either. Like all other Industry Partners. I have a real problem when some one misrepresents themselves and their intentions. I asked him exactly what his were from the first post he made. Then welcomed him to the site and suggested he read CoC rules if here to profit

If you want to give to the site and these forums then do so from your heart. If you intend to profit from your input then pay like the other Industry Partners. You can't keep a site running such as Arfcom for free.

How long does it take before the sites advertising department gets back to a company anyway?  I tried contacting them last week and never heard anything.

I have no idea.  I brought it to site staff's attention.
