What about a sticky of the process of getting your FFL - what is actually required, the inspection and recordkeeping requirements, etc.? I have a little knowledge from discussions with FFL's here over the years, but it would be nice to have a central repository to share info. |
Please be careful with the FFL search. There are many FFL's who are still home based and do not want people calling them. Some like a friend of mine who is in law enforcement did not want his unlisted number given out. |
I need to check about phone numbers, but the other information (licensee name, address, FFL Number, etc....) is publicly available information. |
+1 My father in law had one until Herr Klinton and the regulation changes in the '90s. I'm sure the process and requirements haved changed some since then. I've heard something about a "legitimate" storefront. What exactly do they consider "legitimate"? |
If someone would like to do a little write up, I'd have no problems making it sticky.  Rules and regulations change from area to area, but federal laws stay the same. We'd have to do a Generic Federal write up, and perhaps do a section for each area that has differing laws. (EG: California) |

Its too bad there wasn't a way to lock this section except for FFL holders so that we could possibly be able to share a little more openly. I think the reason a lot of the "tricks" aren't getting put out is because our customer base is reading this also. And BTW - Did the FFL search ever get put together? I haven't seen it on here yet. (But I am half blind sometimes!) |
