| Will the average FAL shoot 1 MOA ? |
| An exceptional FAL might shoot 1MOA with good ammo. An "average" FAL is typically a ~3 - 4MOA rifle with surplus ammo, which is more than adequate for it's intended purpose. My 18" Imbel para will generally keep five shots of SA surplus inside a 4" circle at 100m all day long if I do my part. |

I don't think an "average" AR, M14 or for that matter any military style semi auto shoots 1MOA Most Fal's shoot 2 to 3 MOA with good ammo, IMHO most of all the rifles above shoot the same 2 to 3 MOA. Your one of the honest ones. 1 moa can be done from all these rifles but it takes a Great gun, ammo, and shooter to get there. Sub moa is a term everyone here tosses around but 99% of the people have never shot a 5 round true sub moa group in there life. The bullet itself is 1/3 inch so a 5 shot sub moa group basically ends up being a single hole. I hear alot of claims but things seem to change when I see them behind a rifle. |

Well a friend of mine just got a SCAR H and it was printing about 3 to 4 MOA groups from 100 yds with several different types of ammo and he is a good shooter.
People don't realize 2 moa is a damn nice group (IMHO) for a semi auto military style gun shooting surplus. That's basically head shots out to 500 yds (10" group @ 500 yds) I really think to see what a rifles true real world potential is, is to shoot 10 shot groups out of a mag. Then you know what it's gonna be capable of in a real life scenario. |

Realistically most semi 308's tend to be in the 2-4+moa range with surplus ammo. Almost all claims about sub-moa fals are pure BS, sure there may be a handful of guns out there that might do it with a good shooter but 99% of people/FAL's nope... |

Mine do, with good ammo and optics, but they were built by a master.
He gets 0.4" 3-shot groups using Mag-Tech ammo or he goes back to the work bench. NOTE: He gets the same groups with AR-10s and MIAs using hand loads and careful break in. Most factory FALs will not do this also most builders out there are armory trained to build them to GI spec. On occasion they do get it right and come up with an accurate FAL. If you buy from an individual, try to test shoot it. |
| I have a Para FAL cut to 16" and best I have got on the bench is about 1.5 at 25M and 3 at 100. I dont like bench shooting and prefer to do my shooting standing or kneeling (the likely positions i would find myself if i had to use it on something other than crap at the range). Standing I can pop clays easily at 100M. 2-4 MOA is perfect for any man sized target.... I still dont get the sub moa craze at 100 yards. |
