I am trying to understand what exactly I need to do here. I have a silencer and moved with in my state back in 2007. I didn't realize I may need to file for an address change with the BATF. So what do I do? Just write a letter saying what my new address is?

my understanding is IF you are moving within the same state, you are not "required" to send anything. If you chose to do so, following the "spirit" of the NFA, you can simply send letter to ATF advising your change of address.
For what it's worth, I moved out of state and sent in the 5320.20 advising permanent change of address, and it took them 18 months to confirm my notification of permanent change of address, so I would not expect anything too soon. |
