Stored in GI ammo can for 20+ years in Florida. These two are unfired, as were several in each of 3 boxes of 25 each.Attached File |

What other ambient storage conditions? You stated “in ammo can” but was the can kept inside a climate controlled space, a garage or an outdoor shed? What kind of temps were the cans exposed to? Did you include a desiccant when you packed the cans? It LOOKS like what happened was the hull expanded and broke the thin rim. I have seen that with paper hulls and plastic hulls with a fiberboard base wad BUT I have never seen it with an all plastic unihull like Winchester AA-HS. ETA- My club has stored flats of shells in an outdoor shipping container for maybe a year without issue but not 20+ years. |

I found some plastic shotshells that look like Op's in my Uncle's ammo stash. They appear to be from the 60's or 70's. Stored indoors in humid SE Texas. |
