What is everyone's opinion on this knife as a general purpose carry everyday kind of knife? I played with one at the fun show this weekend...very smooth opening, nice blade, etc... |
| That would be one of the best choices in an EDC folder that you could make. Although I prefer the larger version, which I carry on a daily basis, the smaller version would be easier to carry. My Al Mar is my favorite folder. They are smoooooooth openers. Easily my smoothest opening folder that I own. Even smoother than my Benchmade Axis locks. The S.E.R.E. 2000 is one super tough folder that will last you a lifetime. I say pick one up. You won't be sorry. |

Thats kinda what I was thinking... There is a local jewelry/watch/knife shop around that we went to after the fun show to see if they had anything comparable...I couldn't find anything I liked as much...quality or operation/style wise... I'm gonna go with the Mini SERE, I would get the bigger blade but I think as you mentioned the Mini would be a little easier to carry on a regular basis...I may end up with both eventually depending on how much I like the Mini... Thanks again... |
Cool, post some pics when you get it. Here are a couple of great places to buy the blade, Grand Prairie Knives Knifeworks Here are a couple pics of my S.E.R.E., ![]() ![]()

I have the full size SERE 2000 that is my EDC knife. I love it, and have never thought it was "too big." Hell, I'm looking at a Benchmade Rukus to take over EDC duties, and that thing is HUGE! The mini SERE sure looks nice though. I doubt you'll be disappointed. |
