Maybe I'm trying to over complicate this but can someone tell me how to install an HSGI Alipad to a large ALICE pack with frame? Russ , Give me a call tomorrow at the shop . Have ruck , frame and Ali-pad handy . I will walk you through the installation process . Make sure the shoulder straps and kidney pad are still attached before you . Also if you have , a set of channel-locks and small vise-grips available . These tools will make the job a hell of a lot easier to tighten the straps . Procedure should only take 15 minutes , but I'll stay on the line until we have the Ali-Pad installed . If you have to work tomorrow and you cannot call during shop hours , send me an e-mail and I will reply with my personal cell # to do it after hours . Gene @ HSGI |

A tid-bit of history the Ali-Pad . Many years ago , I designed the Ali-Pad after seeing many Marines rigger taping Iso-mats foam to their shoulder straps , kidney pad and on the inside of the Alice frame . Being an archer myself , I put 2 and 2 together and envisioned a one piece pad that would work in conjunction with the shoulder straps , kidney pad and frame to make it more comfortable for the bearer . Imagine the frame , being the bow and the Ali-pad the bow string . The tighter the Ali-Pad , the more it kept the frame off the back , especially when the back is arched . Not only did it keep the frame from rubbing the back , but allowed more air circulation .
The extra padding on the shoulder straps actually raise the ruck up and also further off the middle of the back for most . Also cradled it more towards the curved contour of the smaller back for better comfort as well . As the shape of the Ali-Pad width in the kidney pad area gave better protection , keeping the Alice frame from digging into the hips as there was no padding outside the kidney pads area on the waste belt . As the Ali=Pad being worn , I saw more space made available . Being that water and lead weighed more by volume , placing pouches between the Ali-Pad and the frame to were hydration bladders or IV bags were more towards the center of gravity , rather than out on the far back of the Alice pack . Making the load more comfortable in weight distribution . .A mesh vent was placed in the center of the Ali-Pad for more air flow and also constructed for lowering line to make it jump able . The Ali-Pad was not made to replace the kidney pad , nor the shoulder straps , but to work with most other brands . Regardless of use of other brands of padding or issued , you will not notice any difference between them using the Ali-Pad . It will work only on the Alice pack frame , regardless of any brand of Alice type pack that is on that frame . Sales of the Ali-Pad have risen +200% in the last 5 months , showing that the Alice pack is coming back to more and more users . Which also will lead to a new pack HSGI is making at this moment and will release here real soon . If anyone has any question on how to put the Ali-Pad on or in need of further info. may contact me directly or contact any HSGI dealer to obtain more info. in regards too . Gene @ HSGI |
