I have this chronograph for my load development and it appears to always error out when someone else is shooting close by. This happens even when the chrony is placed 15 feet away from me and the other shooters are shooting parallel to me and as far as 20 feet away. The error does not affect its ability to record my shots and MV unless we shoot simultaneously.

It's not a big deal as the chrony works well except for this, but I was wondering if a
nyone have this same problem and more importantly a fix.

That's odd... I've used mine for years and years at public ranges with folks shooting on both sides of me with never an issue.  Perhaps a call to the MFG is in order?

Thanks!  That was what I was looking for.

I have the same issues occasionally.
I moved the chrony closer (about 10 ft) and that took care of most of my issues.

Pretty sure that would not help as it appears that the chrony is erroring out due to the gun blast from the nearby guns.  Moving it closer to me will increase the concussion it feels from the other guns in the firing line.

I actually called the company today and talked to tech support and they agree as per Bowhntr6pt that this should not happen.  As it is, I have had the chrony for less than 3 years and it is still in warranty and they told me to send it back to them to get it fixed.

May sound crazy but was it set in the shade? We get errors on our chrony in the shade but not in the direct sun. Sounds nuts I know but thought Id share

I send the chrony back to the company and just received it back in the mail.  The Test report said "Found unit too sensitive, inspected electronics and found 2 damaged capacitors.  Replaced both – tested and calibrated”.  In the mean time, I also brought a used used Oehler chrono and will be receiving it later next week and so would be interesting to test both of them in line and see what I get.

That makes sense as it would error out if someone close by fire a shot (not through the sensors).

Yea mine was doing that. I could not use my AR with it because the blast would give bogus speeds or errors. I had it back up as far as it would go and everywhere in between. I have since taken it out and have had zero problems with it no matter what gun I use.

Interesting - thanks!  Mine actually had no problem with my AR-15 or even my AR-10 (308) but anyone shooting near by errors it out and that was generally OK unless I was firing at the same time, then I would lose my data.
