I was recently thinking of doing an AR build with a wood stock and a blued upper and lower (I saw someone post something about doing this so I can't take the credit for thinking of the idea, but I sure like it). I looked into doing this, but from what I have read it is impossible to blue aluminum, because it is a reaction that only happens with steel or something. Is there any alternative to bluing that produces the same visual results? Thanks.

| I would think you could get close to looking blued if you highly polished the upper and lower, no sandblasting, then maybe adding a little dark blue to the black dye. If you look at Focuser's Site they show some glossy anodizing. |
